Our production of Calendar Girls has been nominated for two awards by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA). NODA represents amateur groups performing plays and musicals across the UK.
We've been nominated for Best Production of Calendar Girls in the region and for Best Programme for the same show in recognition of the quality of the production which sold out at the Guildhall last November. Director, Mary O’Neill, commented: “We’re thrilled to have been nominated for these awards. Although we primarily put on our plays because we all love theatre, it’s gratifying to nominated for an award. It reflects both the quality of the shows we produce, and the hard work and dedication of the cast and crew of which we’re very proud.”
Our Chairperson Helen Pack added: “Grantham Dramatic Society strives for the highest standards in all aspects of theatre, and our nomination for the show and its programme just goes to show what we can achieve. We’re always keen for new members to join us, especially men who are always underrepresented in amateur groups.”
GDS’ next production, the farce ‘Boeing-Boeing’, will be on stage at the Guildhall from 5th to 8th of June; tickets are available from the Guildhall website or on 01476 406158.
